Haley recently sat down with Last.fm to chat about performing music for the first time, yodeling, her influences, her love of the Beatles and classic rock, trying to define her genre, working hard in school, scatting, taking her time with the album and the writing process, her American Idol experience and song choice, filming Baby, It's Cold Outside with Casey, making the music video for Free, thoughts for the next single, wanting to lean toward rock on the next album, what she would have done without Idol, her "plan B" if music didn't work out, advice to musicians wanting to break into the business, playing in Lollapolooza, and meeting music legends at the Mohammad Ali birthday special.

Haley, you are my favorite singer to ever appear on American Idol, and I will be buying (or downloading) your music!! The versions that you did of Benny and the Jets and House of the Rising Sun are instant classics for me! It just doesn't get any better than that! I wish you all the success in the world!!

Keep faith, Haley. With your winning personality and attitude, with your perseverance you will have a successful career. Interscope is only the first label on your way. Smaller label might be much better for you. Obviously the choice of songs is always the biggest problem.Melody and expressive chorus are essential. You have a lot of sunshine in your soul, a lot of positivity and humour. Basically you are a happy person.- in a world of much negativity, it is a great asset. Doris Day, Peggy Lee, rather than Billy Holiday.
